Powered by Lycoming

About 80% of general aviation aircraft fly using Lycoming engines. Clearing the trees at the end of the runway. Leaving 4500ft for 6500ft. Maintaining airflow and generating lift across the wings. All are impossible without a reliable engine. Lycoming powers my training aircraft and so fuels my quest for a private pilot certificate. This blog is a record of my thoughts and experiences on life, flight, and learning.

Cold

Like most of the midwest, it's been pretty cold lately. We hit -14°F on Friday, which is a new record temperature since 1890 or something like that in Coshocton. I haven't been flying much recently....translation....AT ALL.....but I am still admiring clouds from the ground. Here's a photo of some truly impressive mounds of water vapor emanating forth from the Conesville AEP power station. That's a lot of heat going up in in the air!
