Powered by Lycoming

About 80% of general aviation aircraft fly using Lycoming engines. Clearing the trees at the end of the runway. Leaving 4500ft for 6500ft. Maintaining airflow and generating lift across the wings. All are impossible without a reliable engine. Lycoming powers my training aircraft and so fuels my quest for a private pilot certificate. This blog is a record of my thoughts and experiences on life, flight, and learning.

Times Square

On Tuesday evening after a long day manning the booth and explaining to people exactly what our company does....we took a bus into NYC through the Lincoln Tunnel, which incidentally has great cell phone service all the way through! We ended up at the Port Authority Bus Terminal, which is a truly unique building. The buses enter the building on the 3rd floor level, and there are literally hundreds of "gates". It was like being in a small, cramped, very dirty airport in Paris or some other international city...like New York:). It really was the best and cheapest way to get from NJ to NYC - only $3 each way! After wandering aimlessly around, gaping and staring at all the big city sights, we settled on dinner at Tony's Di Napoli, a classic family-style Italian place that is very similar to Buca Di Beppos, just not a national chain. Truly the most amazing spaghetti & meatballs I have EVER tasted. Top it off with a couple bottles of Chianti, and we were really enjoying our stay in NYC!
